The pressure of the plasma cutting gas is one of the important factors affecting the cutting quality.The plasma cutting gas should not only form a certain length of plasma arc, but also remove the molten metal and oxide in the notch.

If the gas pressure is too low, the arc don't have the required power. The notch will not be straight. Slag appears frequently in this situation.

If the gas pressure is too high, large quantity of heat from arc will be taken away. The plasma arc will be shorter than normal. So the cutting ability will be decreased.
